Up to this moment, I am not able to tell you why did we go to Chamonix or where did the idea to climb Mont Blanc appear. But it did. And a cousin of mine happened to be friend of a mountain guide who accepted to take us there. The final result was a full week on the border between France and Italy, climbing Gran Paradiso first, doing some crampon practice at the Mer de Glace and summiting the highest mountain in western Europe. The sunrise we enjoyed at the Arete des Bosses would have justified the effort by itself.
