Overview

The Mountaineer's Peaks were designated by the Sierra Peak Section (SPS) of the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club. The current version of the full SPS Peak List contains 247 peaks. Of these, 15 are designated as Emblem Peaks and 35 as Mountaineer's Peaks. While the Emblem Peaks were chosen on the basis of their bulk and prominence, these 35 Mountaineer's Peaks were selected based on the quality of their climbing.

The Mountaineer's Peaks

The peaks are listed North to South along with a picture and their most 'classic' route or routes. The compilation of the classic routes is a work in progress so please let me know of any additions or corrections! The pictures shown were selected from the top ranked photos for each peak but do not necessarily correspond to the classic route.
