Overview

Sobaeksan is known for it's Yew tree's and flowers on the top of Birobong peak(1439m). There are 9 peaks in the park, Gungmangbong (1,421m), Birobong (1,439m), 1st Yeonhwabong (1,394m), 2nd Yeonhwabong (1,357m) and Dosolbong (1,314m) are the main one's. The trails are fairly easy, and the park is very easy to get to via bus from Seoul or any of the other major cities.

Getting There

Take the bus from Seoul to Danyang. 2.5hrs
Danyang is the main starting point for the park.
Numerous places to sleep and eat.

Camping

Camping sites are provided at Huibangsa, Namcheon and Samga districts for the many hikers that visit this park. There are no shelters but the temples and Observatory can be used for shelter in emergency situations and bad weather conditions.
