Thank you OverviewLocated in the northern section of the Montana Absaroka / Western Beartooth range, Elephanthead Mountain enjoys relatively easy access and offers a unique hiking or skiing experience. While the peak is not particularly high – especially compared to others peaks in the vicinity – Elephanthead is very unique in shape, and is easy to pick out. This mountain’s dominating feature is the north aspect, sporting a huge tilted slab of rock that affords great skiing opportunities. The other aspects are protected by steep cliff walls on the south, east, and west ends. From the top of Elephanthead there are greats viewed into the heart of the Absaroka and Beartooth ranges; across Paradise Valley is the Gallatin range, and to the north and northwest are the Crazy Mountain Range and Bridger Range, respectively.Getting ThereAdd Getting There text here.
