Approach

Start at Britannia hut as described on the Main Page.

Route Description

Wake up call in the Britannia hut usually at 3.45h.
Walk down to the Hohlaub Glacier and walk up (crevasses!) until the track turns right at a rock shoulder. You can see a stone heap on the shoulder. Cross the rocks at this point an walk down to the Alallin Glacier. (Take this route even when others use the route left of the big rock - there are broad moraines to cross and a lot of crevasses).
Keep to the right of the galcier near the wall of the Rimpfischhorn. In late summer avoid the frozen lake on the glacier plane. Reach the Adlerpass and then left via the ridge to the summit. Enjoy.
Total time to the summit approx 5h, down 3h.

Essential Gear

Crampons, rope, ice axe.
