A good Day for a Short tour

The fun starts as we get to Red Pine Lake. Dan was a little hesitant to cross the lake, (He had previously fallen through ice).

We had tried to skin the entire headwall, however it turned out to be easier to just boot it.

Dan gaining the ridge through the cornice.

Finally we got a good look at the Pfeifferhorn, a beutiful peak in the winter.

A good look at our intended ski line.

Crossing the usual Knife Edge Ridge was fun, a little scrambling in ski boots always adds to the experience.

Here's Dan as he negotiates the final bit of the ridge, to the shoulder.

Looking down the entrance, we can see that there is a boot track both up and down, glad to be on skis for this part.

Dan at the entrance, it was a bit winded here, made for a few scary turns above the rocks.

And finally the reward....Nice turns Dan
