Climbed this a couple of times---once with my family and once running with the rest of the BYU XC team during XC camp. Short and easy!

good
I used to car camp in the basin south of the peak and hiked up from there at least twice. No trail needed for boulder hopping - the objective is plain.

Badness
Climbed this with my parents when they were visiting from Ohio. Beautiful drive, easy hike, great view, etc.

Windy, Snow but still beautiful
I was surprise of the snow still there, the peak was easy but the traverse to the saddle between Bald and Reid was hard cause I felt sick I still can hear the wind, still enjoyed the way down following my partner who love to make activities more challenging so we didn't follow a trail.
Hiked via Bald Mountain trail and caught the sunrise. Traversed to Reids Peak and returned back up and over Bald Mountain. Great traverse.

1st Uinta Peak
Having just moved to Utah I decided to go check out the Uintas today. Bald mountain was an easy but fun peak. I wanted to do Reids as well but the clouds were building up and it looked like I didn't have that much time. I did, however, bag Murdock Peak as well.

spur of the moment hike..
This was a great little hike. Neither my wife or I had heard of it before our drive through the Uintas, and when we saw it, we just had to stop and bag it.

Beautiful Sunrise
Went up to watch the sunrise and kick off a day of fishing in the Uintas. No one else on the mountain at the same time. Fun little hike.

Easy Access Uintas
Made a quick trip to the summit while my wife and sister visited nearby falls on the Provo River. Shortest trail to a summit in the Uintas that I know of. The view is beautiful, trail well maintained.

July 15 and still plenty of snow
July 15, 2011: The summer route was still covered in snow and since we got an early start (7:30 am), the snow was still hard. So we just went straight up the SE shoulder, traversed across the top and dropped down to the saddle between Bald and Reid. The west side below Bald was covered in melting snow so it took awhile to trod back that way, but made it more challenging! Another great thing about the snow still hanging around is we had the place to ourselves, didn't see one other people, which was perfect!

Midnight summit
Hiked with cousins on a moonless night. Bats and an amazing view of the clear night sky made for a great night.

2nd Time
Been up twice...once with the Fam and again with the BYU Cross Country team. Nice maintained trail...not a mindblowing alpine experience though. Still nice and cool views but way too many people.

On our very second camping trip of our life, I managed to conquer this beast. Unlike the last attempt (July 24th, 2009) where a huge snowbank blocked the trail and made it impossible to advance, this time we walked by the same area and didn't even notice where the snowbank should have been until I pointed it out. Round trip was about 2 hours (1 hour 5 min up and 45 minutes down because we had to wait for group 2, who started the hike 15 minutes after us on the descent). I really enjoyed the hike up and the sheer cliffs were amazing. This mountain has amazing views everywhere!! Oh and did I mention we started our hike at 6:56 P.M and on the way down saw the amazing sunset?? Yes, and all this made my very first alpine summit a very good experience!!

Fun peak
My 15th time up here. Climbed Bald then Reids, then back over Bald and down. With Moogie737. The Mirror Lake Highway is deserted this time of year.

South slope snow climb
W/ ZeeJay. Snowshoes, then boots. No need for crampons today. Very unpredictable soft snow. Terrific views. Added, for good measure, Reids Peak, and climbed back over Bald Mtn again to get to the parked cars. Snow all the way down to the Mirror Lake Highway!
My wife and I were up and down in no time flat and still had plenty of time on top to enjoy the phenomenal view. didn't see too many other people, mainly because it was mid week and cold but definitely worth every second.
My friend and I decided to tackle this monster this morning, ha ha. It took just about 30 minutes to reach the summit. One of the most pleasant and beautiful hikes I have yet done. It offers great views of other Uinta peaks that wet my appetite to spend some considerable time in the Uinta's. At the top, I decided to change our previous plans, of also bagging Murdock Mountain, and felt the beckoning call of Reed's Peak. I left Bald Mountain at 10:15 am and reached the summit at 11:05 am. May just be my new favorite mountain. Found the mailbox stashed away under the summit cairn, and wrote my name, date, and city on one of the last pages of the spiral notebook I found inside. The last page in that book had been signed in 1999. It looked as if it had endured much weather since being deposited there 10 years ago. It was a beautiful day, and I didn't see a single other person attempting Reed's on a rather busy Bald Mtn Labor Day weekend.

Shared the summit with just a mountain goat
Beautiful hike! We arrived at the trailhead at 8:55am, made it to the summit in under an hour. Didn't see a soul the whole time, with the exception of a curious mountain goat that hung around the summit the whole time we were there. Great views in all directions! Such a great, fun hike!
