Standard loop
Pretty rocks, but more enjoyed the true summit as it was away from the mass of humanity.

Nice easy boulder on top. Would be prettier in foggy weather

Scramble with pops
Climbed this along the scramble route with my pops and then we looped back to the TH on the AT. My first East Coast mountain scramble and it was a lot of fun. Much better rock than the Rockies :)
I have made this hike/climb several times. It is a fun, short scramble, and not a lot of people know about it. So, it's never crowded, unlike some of the more popular peaks in the park.

Snowy and Windy
The snow and ice and high winds made this little scramble a bit more intimidating than I thought it would be.

Slippery When Wet
I've climbed it on a cool, misty afternoon when the rocks were slippery and there were no views. Most recently I climbed it on a warm sunny day in November. I went to the true summit first, then took pictures from the rocks on the way back.
Those were some truly nice Virginia rocks. It was easier than anticipated, but still a class A east coast mountain. Next time will bring shoes and rope.
Wish I could recall the exact date. I just remember I was alone and it seems like the leaves were off the trees. Must have been fall 2003 or 2004, but I can't say with certainty.
Anyway it's a very easy and short little hike, but with cool rocks.

Lost my hat!
It rained really hard on October 27th, and it was very windy the next day. While scrambling over the rocks, a particularly strong gust of wind ripped the baseball cap right off my head and sent it off a cliff!
On the way back, I saw a black bear and her two cubs climbing up a tree.
