Nice afternoon out in Queensland
I had some extra time in Queensland and decided to do the hike in the afternoon. I started on the Tika Trail which was quite steep and a bit rugged. Once you gain the gondala area and are on the actual Ben Lomond Trail I found it quite straight forward. The only difficult part was just after the saddle until the half way point. After that smooth sailing to the summit. I pushed as I was looking at this as a workout so the whole trip took about 4 hours and 15 minutes from the bottom of the Tika trail and return.

Good value
Took the gondola as I've had enough of hiking in forests. 2 hours from there to the summit, excellent views for the most part. Back down the same way though rumours of a loop via the south ridge would have been worth pursuing from the look of it.
A nice day out that started in shorts and ended with a snow ball fight!

Great views
Great views all the way. Had a little rain halfway up but then just nice weather. I was extremely lucky to be on the summit when a lower rain cloud passed by below me and I could se a rainbow from above. A true magnificent moment!
