Bottleneck Peak

Bottleneck Peak

Seen from the road just south of San Rafael Bridge Recreation Site. The mesa on the left is labeled as Bottleneck Peak, but that is an error. Some call it Bottleneck Mesa instead. Bottleneck Peak has at least one route on it-- a 5.10a trad route-- though I was able to find little information on it on Rockclimbing.com. San Rafael Swell, UT-- October 2009

Proof that "desert towers"

will get you everywhere, especially in the
right places.

Most folks on SP love desert scenery. It is the
dog and butterfly; the ying and yang between
snow-capped peaks and the colors of the desert.

Great work, Bob!

Re: Proof that

Not to mention that they're just magnificent to look at...

Nice Bob

For me, desert towers fill my time when mountains are unavailable.

Re: Nice Bob

For me, desert towers fill my time 365 days
out of the year, unless I take a vacation
from Arizona.

Re: Nice Bob

I kind of have the luxury of living where the desert meets the mountains. I can see the Shiprock from the hospital where I spend most of my time. I can see the La Plata's from my house. Bummer

Re: Nice Rob

Logistics can make or break a person.

I live within one of Arizona's central valleys,
where desert flora and fauna prevail; even
though I can still see the San Francisco Peaks
(above Flagstaff) from spots 50 miles away.
