Bridger Peak
The first half wasn't much fun but after attaining the ridge it was a nice walk, with occasional views of Bear Lake through the trees. Did this one after work on a Monday and made it back to camp in plenty of time for dinner.

It's a wrap

Like running wind-sprints!
As mentioned, Bridger is a short and steep climb. The first 1/2 mile is a leg burner, but it's short enough that it's an easy recovery after. The bushwacking to the peak was not bad at all. An easy climb through undergrowth that wasn't very thick. In early October the aspens were flashing their brilliant yellow colors. A great short hike.

Bridger Peak and Naomi Peak
Combined Naomi Peak and nearby Bridger Peak for my 5th and 6th Utah county high points.
Hiked this with my wife and father-in-law. Went up the steep Swan Peak Trail and scrambled up to the ridge then followed it north through the forest to the top. Descended down the north ridge to the Ranger Dip Trail then back down to Swan Flat Road. Fun little high point.
That atv trail is getting pretty overgrown in spots. I lost it twice. The bushwacking at the top wasn't as bad as I feared. Got hit by 4 thunderstorms too. Nice views of Bear Lake at the top.
Nice Hike. Watched the sunset at the top. Had a Am. Three-toed Woodpecker right near the cairn as a bonus

Double Day
Probably went off the trail on the way up, but still found the summit anyway. There was a cute doggy and another couple who were out bagging peaks, too.
Easy up and easy down.

I felt like poo.
I signed the summit register with a haiku about my ailing lungs and my imminent death. I have a flair for the dramatic.

To Naomi with Love
We missed the turnoff to Tony Grove so we kept going up the highway and did Bridger. It was a fortuitous occurrence as we would later find out. Anyway, it is a short and steep hike to the top and the trail disappears in the foliage. I got stabbed by a tree. It was so rude. The views from the top are great. You can see Bear Lake and Naomi, which we would do later that day.

snowshoes
Snowshoed from the highway sheds to the base of Bridger Peak. Ascended at the west facing slopes north of the traditional summer trail. The ascent was a miserable slog through faceted snow, wet snow, wind drifts, wind scoured snow... a bit of everything. The summit was easy to find with my GPS and there was no one else in the area. Lots of snowmobile traffic on the groomed road but nothing on the mountain. It was a beautiful sunny day. Maybe better in summer though.

Another Two-fer
Found the top of this one after scoping it out from the top of Naomi. Beautiful day, great weather. With my best friend.
7/10/2013 After climbing Naomi Peak and Mount Magog in the morning, I decided to drive up Logan Canyon a little further and scope out Bridger Peak. I knew it was going to be mostly off trail and a bit of a scavenger hunt to find the summit marker, but was pleasantly surprised when I broke into a clearing and the 3 foot high summit cairn was 100 feet directly in front of me. On top I enjoyed the spectacular views of Bear Lake as I had a nice lunch. Very cool.

Corney
Easy access to the top for some good springtime corn snow. Will be back with my husband next year.
Great weather is always a good thing when hiking to a peak. Most of this trail would be slick in the rain. Keep your eyes peeled since the trail is growing over in several places.

Spring Ski
Quick approach on the snowmoble packed road, nice view from the top and just enough snow to ski down. Fun Sunday afternoon with my wife.

Quick fix
The elevation is unimpressive, gain relatively minimal, trail distance short, but Bridger Peak is a worthy highpoint nonetheless. The trail was steep enough to give somewhat of a workout, and no one else was on the mountain the day I reached the summit. Totally worth it! Views all around were quite beautiful.
