We took donkey down into the canyon just for fun. It was very weird and most likely the last time I will ride an animal instead of doing a hike. It was nice though because it was around 90 degrees, so you were not working up as much of a sweat.
Hiked the Peekaboo Loop in Bryce Canyon. It had snowed the night before and the trail into the canyon was icy and muddy. I almost bailed because the footing felt so insecure, but once I got past the first section of the trail the conditions improved. It was a beautiful hike! It started snowing again just as we were coming up out of the canyon.

Great place
Great weekend place, the trails outside of the main hoodoo area offer some nice solitude and forest. Outside the park in the National Forest is some nice free camping and the chance to see more wildlife. I saw elk and the threatened Utah Prairie Dog

Nice Place
Hiked (11) miles one day along the rim and in the canyon. Next day did a 40 mile bike ride on the park road. Very enjoyable visit.

September colors
We had glorious weather, very low crowds and had nearly all the trails to ourselves! We always hiked early in the morning before most got out of their tents. The best colors are mornings and evenings!

Bryce Canyon Thanksgiven
It is anice place to visit in the late fall or even winter. The constrast of the snow and red rocks produces somewhat extraordinary view

Jaw Dropping
Did fairyland loop Sept 3rd (after waiting for the Sun to come up and temperatures to rise above 8 degrees). On Sept 7th we did Peek a Boo loop and witnessed a horse in a riding tour poise on the edge of a switchback edge, deciding whether to plunge over the edge of the trail edge with a petrified tourist atop it. After about ninety seconds the wrangler barely coaxed the horse to turn away (whispering as he passed us that he had never had such a close call). Stay on your own two legs for this one.

I know it was the summer of 1993 when I was there, but I don't remember the date, so don't trust the date above.

Wow!Overwhelmingly mystical place. We connected every hike in the park to make (mostly) a full day out of it. Would go back in a heartbeat.
