from Sandstone Quarry trailhead
I hiked this one (along with the peak 800 feet to the southwest) with Chris Kidd on a warm early autumn day. Lots of people in the canyon on the trail to Calico tanks, but few venture to climb these two peaks. Great views!

Quick morning scramble
with Rory from the Sandstone Quarry trailhead. Straightforward from the trail to the big tank (which had retained a fair amount of water to that point), then it was an easy class 3 scramble on good rock to the top. The cooler days really make you appreciate the gems at lower elevations.

With Red Cap
Climbed up the prominent gully immediately S of Ash Canyon. Fun scramble. Traversed over to both Red Caps. GPS tracks
When I first moved here in 1999, I climbed this and several other RRC peaks. Usually this one was done after hiking to the tank, and up from there.

Not Quite
Climbed from the saddle east of the tank and ended up in the tower just south of the summit with a gap and wall I could not get up. Could not find a way up from there.
