burrows trail
great little hike on the burrows trail. probably would have taken a longer route if we had known the trail conditions were going to be so good. going to try the approach on the long trail going north next time.

rock?
first experience on an east coast "mountain". Fun hike...looks like the southern face could hold possibility for some rock routes...perhaps some already exist.

Camel's Hump
Climbed via the Burrows Trail from Huntington. My favorite mountain in Vermont. Climbed up early enough to see a thick layer of clouds in the valley. Beautiful alpine summit provided magnificent views of the crest of the Green Mountains and of the Lake Champlain Vally and the Adirondacks.

Great Fall hike, would have like some more views
I took the Monroe Trail. The day started out cloudy and foggy, but eventually it cleared up... As I was making my way down the mountain. A really good time nonetheless

Snowshoes!
Snowshoeing on decently packed Burrows Trail. Not particularly bad but icy near the summit. Saw at least 30 people over the course of the day. Nice winter climb.

Beautiful Mountain
One of the few mountains above treeline that I ascended in 2000 where I actually had clear weather.

Monroe Trail
Got a tad windy as we approached the summit. Great day for a hike!
My husband carried up our son. Our daughter hoofed it up on her own. Ate yummy blueberries at the top. We were happy that our 5 year old made it on her own. Clear & a beautiful 360 degree view.

Monroe Trail
We climbed into clouds. Summit was nice and rocky, but saw absolutely no view except "Lake Champlain up close" as the locals say. By the time we were a mile down from the summit, the clouds parted.

Dean and Monroe Loop
Climbed up the Dean Trail and went back down the Monroe. When my group got to the summit we could see dark clouds closing in fast. Luckily, we beat the rain to the bottom of the mountain and it did not start raining until we were at the Fork of Dean & Monroe. But boy did it pour. I feel bad for anyone further up the mountain.

Beautiful Day
This is the mountain I've climbed many times and admired its prominent camel hump shape from my childhood camp on the beach across the lake. Climbed this with friends as part of the VT City Marathon weekend. In 2006, I ran the marathon instead.
