with Balsam  Sucess!

Started off the day with Windham, then drove down to Rider Hollow and saw Balsam and Eagle. Very wet and windy, and got pretty cold by the end of the day. The weather was awesome and a lot of fun, but it took me a while to dry out afterward.

Newbie too far gone to stop!  Sucess!

Done as a backpack. Not much water on this ridge- bring plenty. True summit is off to the west on a herdpath. No cannister to sign, but you can rest under a balsam tree near where it once was.

Seager-Big Indian  Sucess!

Fall is a great time of year to go hiking in the Catskills. I went off trail for awhile on a private path by mistake after a hard water crossing. The Pine Hill-West Branch trail was really sucky. Too overgrown. I enjoyed the Seager-Big Indian trail though. I'd like to see the other side, perhaps I will when I go to Balsam.
