Great views of SLC
I have summitted this little peak several times over the years. The first time came when I was living on center street in downtown Salt Lake. It was a great little getaway for my dog and I, that we could access straight from our doorstep, and didn’t need to drive a vehicle to get out there.

Fine city hike
Very popular, even during the Super Bowl. Views were lessened by haze from the dying GSL... and I sprained my toe after slipping on the ONE patch of ice left on the trail. The mud made for some very dirty boots.

Nice short hike, great view
Steeper climb to top than I expected but pretty easy; Ensign Mound and the Hell Canyon trail are worth a quick stop too. Little bit crowded on a Friday afternoon with families dragging very unhappy children to the top. Go on non-peak times.

Took family up this short walk. Nice views on a clear day. Had my friend Clint with us who was traveling West. Crowded trail, many people walking up to witness the view of Salt Lake City below.

Journey's 1st Mountain Hiking
Journey (18 months) hiked the whole way to the top. She is truly an ATB (All Terrain Baby). She also doesn't like the paved or man-made surfaces and goes for the toughest terrain possible and just loves climbing and running downhill. Went up at sunset and had a great time after doing The Living Room earlier in the day.
Have climbed this one several times and it is always a great hike, especially while higher elevation hikes are still snowy in the spring. There is access to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail fro Ensign Peak which is also a fun hike.

Ensign & Meridian
Busy trail up to Ensign Peak. Though I've lived in Utah most of my life this was my first time. Great views from the summit and good historical interpretation on the trail up. Lost most of the crowds on the way up to Meridian.

mud!
mild but very windy February day. trail very muddy. I saw no other hikers except some people working on the picket fence near the trailhead.

Nice View
Strolled up to see the view of the SLC valley. Makes you realize how uncity SLC is. I counted 10 tall buildings.

Nice Little Mountain
I'll always have a soft spot for this little peak: it was the first SP-listed peak I climbed when I got back into shape after about 15 years of almost no hiking.

I love going up Ensign, and it's a great place to take visitors from out of town. For such a short hike, you get a superb view.
