Gothics Trespass
Great hike, this one really felt isolated compared to some of the other high peaks. Here is a short story of caution for all who plan to hike in or around the Adirondack Mountain Reserve property. We were told by a ranger that it was alright to camp when we crossed the Ausable and hiked in a ways, however we found this untrue when we were awakened by a "cowboy sheriff" tapping his 44 Magnum on our tents. He preceded to chauffeur us back to the very same ranger station where we were given permission to camp so he could get a DEC officer out of bed on Memorial Day weekend to write us all trespassing tickets. This whole ordeal took around 4 hours of sitting and waiting while this joker fumbled around his office.

Upper Wolf-Jaw-Armstrong-Gothics-Big Slide
Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. Third summit of a 2 days-hike. Slept at the garden the night before. We proceeded to JBL to drop our pack. We then climbed Upper Wolf Jaw, Armstrong and Gothics. The descend to JBL on bare rocks with only the cable was interesting and added a challenge without being too scary. We were back to the tentsite at 7PM.

Autumn!
Climbed up the Ore Bed Trail and did a loop with Gothics, Armstrong, and Wolfjaws. It was excellent!...summit was a little crowded but we got a late start. The cables were fun but I prefer the scramble. Foliage was nice and yellow, perhaps more colors a week later.
From the Rooster Comb parking area to Basin and down to Slant Rock along the Gothic Ridge.

One of my favorite hikes ever! Did it during a terrible storm, second highest rainfall in recorded history. Great variety in scenery.

Gothics Via Sawteeth
Finally hit Gothics after looking at it from other High Peaks the last two years. Beautiful Mountain with awesome views of the Upper Great Range. Will definitely be hitting it again with Saddleback and Basin.

beautiful and long day
did the Garden -> Gothics -> Armstrong -> Upper Wolf-Jaw -> Garden loop (return was via southside trail). 14 miles, 4500 ft. vert. Deep snow made bushwhack conditions through the tops of trees coming off Armstrong and UWJ. A great day with Andrea.

Route Climbed: Loop over Gothics, Armstrong, and Upper Wolf-Jaw
Stayed at Peggy O' for two days. Hiked in and did this loop over Gothics, Armstrong, and Upper Wolf-Jaw. Views were limited to the east with occasional gusts clearing the clouds. Not too much snow. Also did as part of a range traverse in summer 1995.

Via North Face
Ice was incredibly thin (2-3mm). Mostly just slippery rock. We made it to the summit anyway, but it required some interesting route finding.
