Summer of 1993
Back in the day when Utah still had wild nature. I don't recall the exact date but it was the summer of 1993 as I had just recently purchased my Isuzu Rodeo and I took a road trip through Utah to the Grand Canyon and back to Alberta. Good memories!

Kolob
Five of us did this as part of a backpacking trip. We started at Lee Pass and ended at Hop Valley and camped near the turnoff to Kolob Arch. Great area to explore.

Beautiful Spring Hike
Zion is amazing in the spring and Kolob Arch did not disappoint. The trail along La Verkin Creek was especially nice.

Solitude on Memorial Day Weekend
We stayed at Campsite #13 (beautiful campsite - likely the best in the Kolob Canyon backcountry) over Memorial Day weekend and hiked to Beartrap Canyon. The Kolob Arch trail is directly across from this campsite, so we checked it out. Resting on nearby rocks while gazing up at the arch and ever changing clouds was my favorite part of our backpacking trip.

Kolob
Had car shuttle so Al Baltis and I were able to do long 17 mile one way hike: La Verkin Trail with Kolob arch side trip and down Hop Valley trail.
If you can hit this area up during periods of lower use (Sept-Apr) you'll likely enjoy it more. I love the slots at the end. There is room to explore back there.
Especially good hike for families...I first went back there as a kid and thought it was a fantasyland. So much fun.

Full moon
Hiked to this arch underneath the full moon with Dustiano. Great experience even with the mountain lion warnings

My wife and I had a big fight about something just before starting this hike. This meant that the hike went super fast, semi-solo, and by the time we got to the arch, we were over it. We've broken some pretty good speed records by getting in an argument just before hitting the trail. :).
