Rope-Solo
The route up this has more bolts now than some sources say, so the runout really isn't a problem. On MP, the grade is now 5.4. It's true that there is a 5.7 smear in one section, but it can also be made easier with big holds off to the side. I climbed it in approach shoes and used the easier way on lead, but I didn't have any trouble on solo TR after rapping to clean, though very windy conditions definitely could change that.
The last pitch is pretty much a hike with a few bolts to protect it.
Also, it's easy to scramble to the rap anchors, and a single 70 will get you down with just a little to spare.

Cowboy Route
Don't miss this one! The views from the top and the rappel alone are well worth it. We tried another route up the S. Ridge, but we bailed on the second pitch. Super fun!

Tradition
Pretty much a tradition now for me to bring someone new to the area to climb and rappel this, and Wilson Arch. Easy climbing, crazy cool rappelling.

Looking Glass Rock
Kessler (my 11 year old son), Charlie and I climbed Looking Glass Rock while Tess stayed below and photographed us (here wrist was hurting). It was a fantastic climb and very enjoyable. The weather was perfect.
Just as suspected, the sandy pitch was indeed sandy, but we all made it to the top without any problem. The exit rap is one of the most spectacular rappels anywhere. Kessler really enjoyed it.
Climbed Looking Glass regular route with my 7 year-old son and a couple of friends. Led all pitches. Nice free rappel.

Do it for the rappel
11/6/10 - This was a surprisingly quick and easy climb; enjoyable though. The slab didn't seem all that sandy and we just walked right up it. The rappel was a doozy; I'd done long raps before but never this long free. Looking down from up high was unnerving... crazy!

I'm spoiled!
There are not too many climbs in CO that you can park/camp, get out of your sleeping bag and walk 15ft to the start! The climb was a little sandy, but fun. Loved the rap!!

sunny farewell
scooted up looking glass on a beautiful autumn morning w/heather and aaron. sandy 2nd pitch was nerve-wrecking for a short peroid yet the climb was enjoyable overall. the rap through the keyhole was bomber, ~40m of free riding.
Wow, damn windy....made you think about that 2nd pitch....that rap is awesome....great route for the climbing family. So much to do in Moab, so little time.
