Completed a hike over Mt Abraham and Mt Ellen from Battell Trail trailhead to Jerusalem Trail trailhead with a bike ride shuttle back to car at Battell Trail trailhead. The bike ride up Elder Hill Rd to Battell Trail Trailhead was difficult after the long day's hike and with pack strapped on back. 420 ft of elevation gain over the last two miles up Elder Hill Rd

Ellen and Abraham
Did the traverse over the long trail. Ellen is kind of a boring mountain, especially when it’s foggy on top.

No skiing yet
With Flanders after hitting Abraham, Little Abe, Lincoln, Nancy Hanks and Cutts along the way from the south. Wasn't sure we hit the summit of this until going past it to the ski lift area. Lots of false summits along the way on the ridge too. Small cairn though at the summit of this one. Finished up the Vermont 4000ers on this peak before heading back on the ridge to Lincoln Gap.

Second summit of the day
Took ninety minutes to get here from the summit of Abraham. On top I met with an older lady with a hint of southern in her accent from Bow NH and a younger guy from Manchester NH who had both completed the NH 48. We all had one thing in common; very few 4000 footers in Maine climbed apart from Katahdin. The entire 12.6 mile hike from Lincoln Gap took me six hours, with only thirty minutes spent relaxing at the summits.
The weather report called for thunderstorms in the afternoon but we lucked out and they started just after we got back to the car. Not much noteworthy about this summit except it's above 4000 ft for those knocking it off a list. The Jeruselum trail is very easy, but boring. The ridgeline is all in the trees and the summit views consist mostly of the ski lodge. I'd recommend Mt Abraham if anyone is making a choice about what to climb and doesn't have to do this one for a list.
Hiked in from Appalachian Gap, normally don't like ski-lift summits, but these were quiet and the wildflowers were awesome, great hiking along the ridgeline views all along the way.

Mount Ellen
Climbed with Abraham via the Long Trail from Lincoln Gap. A great hike along the crest of the Monroe Skyline. Lots of mud. Reached the wooded summit a few hours after Abraham. Had some really nice views of the surrounding mountains from the ski area.

Long Trail from Lincoln Gap
The morning fog never lifted completely. But it's still a nice hike. I was happy to see the sign at the summit, because there's a lot of up and down as you get closer to it.
Hiked a small portion of the Long Trail while visiting relatives.

Along the LT
Reached this forested summit twice. The first with my parents when we were day hiking the entire ridge from Lincoln Gap to App Gap. The second being along the Long Trail. It's hard to imagine that this mountain is the same exact height as Camel's Hump, which is just a two day hike to the north.
Well, I made it to the summit, that was the good part. Rained mosted of the hike. Only on the ridge walk out did the clouds lift enough to see into the valleys, and then they settled right back in. Completed last of VT's 4000 footers.
