On a rainy day in Vegas
Maddie and I headed to the Bowl of Fire area to do a quick climb before I had to work, and before storm came in. It was a quick trip to the ridge from the North Shore Summit parking area, the route pretty much hugs the ridge the whole time. A short class three section waits just below the summit block, but other than that, this is a straightforward trip. View of Lake Mead and the Bowl of Fire await!

27 Peaks in 21 Days
Climbed this as an after-thought in dense fog with no proper map. Still had a lot of fun. The class 3 getting into the notch can be easily avoided by searching further down to the left. We did Black Mesa afterward which was below the cloud deck. This was part of a 21 day hiking road-trip with Heather. Other peaks we did on this trip include:
Pinos, Sawmill, Aliso, Signal, Castle Dome, Ajo, Miller, Superstition BM, Turtle HP, Old Woman, Granite, Cinder Cone 3894', Avawatz, Pahrump, Pinto, Nelson HP, Panamint Butte, Canyon Point, Shadow, Grapevine, Wahguye, Palmer, Stirling, Black Mesa, Hamblin, and Little Virgin.
We also visited Heiroglyphic Canyon, Marble Canyon, Cottonwood Canyon, Sheep Spring Canyon, Cadiz Dunes, Mojave Lava Tube, Parowan Gap Dinosaur tracks and numerous pertroglyph sites.
See the trip report with photos for more information.

Northshore Peak
Nice trip with my wife, wonderful weather. Great views. However, there is no writing utensil in the jar holding the summit log. Had we known, we would have brought one. Alas, we weren't able to sign. Just a heads up to anyone else who might be going.

Morning on the rise
With Northshore Peak being close to the trailhead, I decided to climb it with the break of dawn and other than some clouds, it went fantastically.
A lovely mellow hike after getting blown off (literally) Charleston the day before. Took a direct line up to the east ridge with a bit of Class 3 and was able to find plenty more of the same by staying on the crest - including a little mini knife edge.
Kudos to whoever left the little puppet that keeps the summit register company.
Super views all round and little more than 3 hours round trip with lunch on top. Well recommended.

Northshore Peak
Beautiful Fall day with a sustained breeze coming out of the north. There was a glass jar with a summit register for 2007 under some rocks on the summit. There was another glass jar with a folded topozone map in it and some 2006 summit log sign-ins about twenty feet down and east of the summit. I placed both jars within the rocks of the summit cairn.
We did this peak sometime in winter of 2002. It has nice views from the top. I only have a "doggy" slideshow from this day: Hadrian to Northshore Peak
This peak is near Northshore Road. These days we like to hike much deeper into the wilderness of Lake Mead Area. The possibilities are endless there...
