Soloed over an afternoon. Loop from Cecret Lake up the west ridge and down the east ridge/Castle route. I saw no one above and few below the lake, not surprising for a weekday. First time I've summitted anything, having just moved here from Oklahoma.
Skinned up from the Grizzly parking lot the weekend after Alta closed for the 2008 season. It took less than 2 hours to summit. Skied down Devils Castle (nice powder). Was on the peak for 45 minutes or so; the round trip took under 3 hours.

Would be a nice ski
Hiked to Castle from here. I've skied the Devil's Castle traverse. A couple couloirs from the summit through the cliffs looked good dry. Maybe next year.
Camped out in the saddle meadow between Devil's Castle and Sugarloaf. Hiked up Sugarloaf to wake up and get warm, then came back and finished off Devil's Castle. Saw a huge moose on the way down- it was a good morning.
Climbed with Moogie737 just after reaching the top of Baldy. We saw a bunch of runners in some sort of foot-race that were traversing from Hidden Peak, over Baldy, then down to the Germania saddle and then down Mineral Basin. It looked like fun!
Twice; first time I was 12 years old, and dragged my frightened mother up (who is terrified of heights) by telling her "I think it gets easier from here on up" -- fortunately, it was a small enough mountain that we had summitted by the time she figured out I was just making that up. Sep 8, 2007 revisited as part of the Bullion Divide route.
My 2nd time at the summit. Alta closed for skiing last week, so today it was mountaineers and die-hard skiers hiking up the slopes. From the east end of the Alta road parking lot Brent and I hiked to the summit in 1+40, including stops. The descent took less than an hour. Stunning views in all directions at the top. Three days later I hiked once again to the summit after topping out on Mt. Baldy, 3/4 mile to the west. July 14th climbed it for the 4th time, this time from Baldy summit, taking 32 minutes from summit to summit. July 21st did it again, just like one week ago. Habit forming, I guess. Climbed again on 8-7-07 as part of a long ridge run from Devil's Castle to Haystack. Seventh time on top part of a long ridge hike beginning at the south Superior ridge and ending at the Snowbird tram. Aargh! 8th time 9-19-08 from lower Alta parking lot. #9 7-20-10 W/ ZeeJay from Albion Basin. Bagged Baldy, too. Quick way to get 2,000' of e.g. at high altitude. #10 3-16-12 Solo. Wanted a calendar winter ascent; used Alta Ski Resort route from base of Albion lift. Nasty winds made things harder than they should have been. #11 7-4-13 Hit Hidden Peak, Mt. Baldy and this one to celebrate July 4th. Nice wx.#12 8-27-13 W/ Brent. Hit Hidden Pk from the Bird, then Mt. Baldy before Sugarloaf. Then return over Baldy to Hidden and ride down in comfort in the tram. #13 9-17-13 I did Sugarloaf solo while Brent waited, othewise like 8-27. Threatening wx turned into a deluge with lightning on the drive down from the Bird. #14 7-11-15. After Baldy from Hidden Pk. Herrlich mit Yz zu sein. #15 4-27-16 Solo. Snowshoed from the base of the Albion lift; breaking trail much of the way because the resort is closed and we've had a ton of snow over the past week. Some sun, lots of clouds and snow showers. Little wind. 3+28 up. 1+27 down. Some of the best snowshoeing I've had in a long, long time. #16 5-3-16 with Brent. Bluebird day. Very crusty snow from top of Sugarloaf lift to summit. 3+06 up. I bagged Mt. Baldy solo before we headed down to the base of the Albion lift. #17 5-10-16 SS, mit Yz 2+08 up from Albion lift base. #18 8-12-16 w/ Brent & Lana After Baldy, then back to Baldy, Hidden Pk and tram down. #19 7-20-18 W/ Brent & Lana. After Hidden and Baldy; then back to Hidden via Baldy. Oh, the wild flowers! #20 03-22-20. W/ Lana. From Alta on snowshoes because the resort was closed due to the pandemic (coronavirus). #21 03-28-20 W/ Lana from the Wildcat lift at Alta. 3+08 up on a wintery day with up to 2' of new powder. Alta had opened to uphill traffic on the 20th. What a blessing. #22 03-30-20 W/ Lana. Snowshoe from the Wildcat base with on and off snow showers and wind! 3+24 up. Intention was to do Baldy but the wind persuaded us to postpone the effort. #23 03-31-20 W/ Lana. 3+13 up. Once again our plans to climb Baldy were torpedoed by winds gusting to 25 mph. At least it was a bit warmer than earlier ascents this month. #24 04-10-20 Solo. After Baldy on a bluebird day. #25 04-18-20 W/ Lana after Baldy. Beautiful clouds, mild temps. #26 08-24-20 W/ Lana. Triple today: Hidden, Baldy, Sugarloaf, Baldy and Hidden. Tram down. #27 08-26-20 W/ Lana. Same as 2 days ago! #28 09-11-20 W/ Brent & Lana; after Hidden & Baldy like 08-26. #29 09-18-20 W/ Lana; just like 09-11. #30 06-11-21 "Triple" like 09-18-20. W/ Lana. Cool day. #31 06-23-21 W/Lana, part of ridge run from Flagstaff Mountain to Hidden Pk. #32 08-20-21 w/ Lana "Triple" like 06-11-21. #33 08-21-21 W/ Lana. Like day before but caught in screaming squall en route to the summit and down to the Sugarloaf ski lift. Brrr. #34 09-22-21 W/ Lana. The "triple." #35 08-03-22 W/Lana. The triple (HP, Baldy, SL, Baldy, HP). Tram down. #36 08-09-22 W/Lana. Again, the "triple." #37 08-30-22 Solo. The triple again. #38 09-09-22 W/Lana. The triple again. #39 09-30-22 W/Lana. Part of Triple. #40 10-07-22 W/Lana. Part of Triple. Autumn colors spectacular. #41 05-10-23 W/Lana. Record snow year. From Mount Baldy including a very dicey descent down the Baldy east ridge to Germania Pass. #42 04-30-24 W/Lana. After Baldy. Used snowshoes for the climb and the descent to the base of the Collins life. Lots of good snow. Peak #24 in of my 80in80 quest.

Nice hike after doing the AF Twins the day before. The wildflowers and moose were out in force. I wanted to hang out on top for a while but I got spooked by clouds coming over AF Twins and Hidden Peak. It was clearly raining down towards Provo.
