Great peak. Had a nice lunch near the summit, on our way to the Diamond Notch.

Numerous Ascents  Sucess!

Like the rest of the Devil's Path peaks, I've been up Sugarloaf in numerous ways at numerous times of the year in numerous combinations. I love them all though!

One of three for the day  Sucess!

The stone chairs and walking over the beaver dam on the way up the Pecoy Notch trail from the Roaring Kill trailhead made this a lot more interesting than a standard Devil's Path hike. Two hours from trailhead to summit. First summit of three for the day.

where's the peak?!  Sucess!

Hit it along the Devil's Path. Nice class 2 climbing. Wish there was more. Nonetheless a fun climb. Essentially no vistas from the summit.

Fun clamber!  Sucess!

Indian Head> Twin> Sugarloaf> Roaringkill and back via Road.

The hike up this mountain was incredibly fun. The summit had limited views, but the hike made it worthwhile.

Pecoy Notch!  Sucess!

What a fun hike! The old quarry was awesome, and the big stone chairs are a great spot to take a break!

Climbed in 5 foot of snow, and made it to the top by the time the sun was setting. I got some nice photos too!

Shots fired   Sucess!

Backpacked over this peak and spent the night in Mink Hollow. Leanto full- but I found a tiny cave to sleep in. Remind me never to sleep in a cave again. Too cold. Too hard a sleeping surface.

Sugarloaf  Sucess!

Climbed with Plateau and Twin via the Devil's Path from Elka Park Road. A steep ascent from the Plateau col. Nothing to see from the summit but a great lookout made accessible by a side trail provided an excellent view south. We were overtaken by a brief hailstorm on the way to Twin.

Up the Pecoy Notch, Down the Mink Hollow  Sucess!

This is a good hike, especially if you visit the stone quarry. You get to take your picture sitting in a stone chair. It's classic. The Devil's Path is always a challenge for the Catskills.

The dreaded Sugarloaf  Sucess!

Having already climbed over Indian Head and Twin, I became delusional on the ascent up Sugarloaf's eastern side. Had a great time with my friend Steve who had run the Long Island Marathon two weeks earlier - I have no idea how he survived this hike.
