It was another frequent destination for me and my son. We used to go there when it was not developed, no signs, no fees, dogs free. It changed a lot over the years, and now so many regulations and crowds on weekends.

Tent Rocks
Hiked through the slot canyon and overlook and then did the cave loop. I recommend seeing these unique rock formations.
I've hiked through here quite a while ago with my family. Beautiful area.

Fun hike...cool slot!
We discovered this gem of a park upon the recommendation of a coworker. My 1.5 year old especially loved it and made it to the top of the mesa top largely on his own. By the time we started down, however, he was a goner and slept in our arms until we made it back to car. The narrow/slot sections of the hike were very cool.

Really loved this place
We spent a spectacular, warm, sunny day here before driving back to the snow in Colorado. We loved the slot canyon, the overlook, the hoodos...all of it. What a wonderful little surprise tucked into the New Mexico scrub.

WOW
What a great hike. Excellent rock formations and a fun easy slot canyon all near ABQ and Santa Fe. If you have the chance, GO. Did the canyon to the top of the mesa, back down, then around the cave loop trail.

A Tradition
We joined friends here on Easter Sunday, something they had done for years, since then have made several trips there just for fun.

Two visits to Tent Rocks
In 2002, I wanted to climb Jicarita Peak, but it was't going to work out. I just had to climb something before I left New Mexico, so I hiked to the top of the Mesa via the Canyon Trail. Tent Rocks was well worth the second visit in 2005.

ah yes
First date is a guess. Many, many times while in NM, with many variations. I took many good friends and relatives to the top of the mesa.
There was a faint trail off the opposite side of the mesa, which snaked back on the west side, then south of the main cliffs, making a pleasant loop hike.
I think this was just public land when I last went -- the national monument designation did not exist.

Nice family outing
My wife and I took our then-8-month-old son out here one afternoon and the following morning to hike both trails in the area. The scenery here is beautiful, but the highlight was the nesting hummingbirds not far from the trailhead.
We hiked this together as a family in June 2006. It was a bit warm, but we had a great time! We didn't quite make it to the mesa top, but we did make it all the way through the slot. This is a great canyon, and although it is well known, it is still worth going to!! Did it again with my kids this past spring break.
