TESTT - The European Summit Top Ten
TESTT Project
The TESTT project takes you to the ten highest country-summits of Europe (The European Summit Top Ten). A first disciption of the project appearred in the Outdoor Magazine, a Dutch magazine on outdoor travelling and lifestyle (Edition 6, year 2005) and the popularity of climbing this list is growing.
Characteristics
Climbers going for all ten summits can expect very different terrains and contrasts in the different mountain areas in Europe. From the vulcanic Pico del Teide in Spain to the eternal glacier ice on Mount Elbrous in Russia. The lower mountains can be reached by mountain walkers, but the higher ones involve serious alpine climbing technics. Climbing to the highest summit of Europe, Mount Elbroes, is an expedition on itself.
First climber
The Dutch mountaineer Peter Blokker (a.k.a Pedro Verticalo) is the first one who completed this project in July 2007.
