start from E Fork Blacks Fork campground ...
west up trail 91 to divide between East and Middle Forks, then off-trail on divide southwest to T Peak. We reversed course down and bushwhacked down drainage with small lake (@ latitude 4521000m N UTM) and joined trail 102. Even with this 'shortcut' it was a brutal ~19 mile hike. With Wasatch Mountain Club group. There were a couple huge plumes of smoke from wildfires south of the range crest.

Tokewanna To wasatch Peak
https://youtu.be/Q4G3n-1btF8 Check out our video on YouTube at Peaks in the bag for a full trip report and guide. This peak is actually not that bad started at west fork of the blacks and took the bear river smiths fork trail up to the meadow then traversed up the ridge to the peak.

From the east
September 6, 2016 we got stormed off 850 feet from the peak. Returned August 17, and approached it from the east (last time from Bob's Lake), and we bagged it. Wonderful views.

A long day
Right as I got to the top, a really thick cloud rolled in and obscured any views I might have had :(

Tokewanna
Via East Blacks Fork with Donovan Lynch. Had thoughts of doing Wasatch and NW Wasatch, but opted out after a long hike to the summit. Extremely windy along summit ridge and on top.

Tokewanna
The first time I climbed the mountain was in 1990 all the way from the East Fork Bear River to Bobs Lake and then Tokewanna. It was 40+ miles round trip and I did it in two days!
The second time I climbed the peak was on September 3 2000 with my dad via the Northeast Ridge via East Fork Blacks Fork and down via the Middle Fork. My cousin and wife also came, but didn't make the summit. It was a very cold day for early September and there was fresh snow.

quiet, green
Went up NW ridge from West Fork Blacks. Parked at the river ford at 710 am and summited just before 11am with a half hour break thrown in their along the ridge. Great route, great views. The summit register was in bad shape, but the peak doesn't seem to be climbed very often despite being a Utah 13er.

Long way in winter
1/25/2015 Four day ski trip with a base camp at the East Fork Blacks Fork Guard station. Day 1: 11 mile trip to cabin. Day 2: 12 miles RT trail breaking. Day 3: 16 miles RT to summit. Day 4: ski 11 miles back to car.
7/28/2009 21 mile day hike with Moogie737 from East Fork Blacks Fork. Also did Wasatch Benchmark and NW Wasatch.
6/6/2008 Skied most of the way and then booted the last 600' to the summit. With MOCKBA and Rob via the NNE ridge. The wind was so strong that it blew me and Rob off balance several times. Beautiful views, but didn't feel like sticking around to enjoy them. Hopefully I'll be back sometime when it's not so windy.

13ers attempt
Attempt to climb all of the 13ers in one push failed. Watched the sunset from the top. Had mild altitude sickness that only got worse on our way over to Wasatch and NW Wasatch. Had to abort our attempt. See trip report here:

East Ridge
This was the last day of a 4 day solo trip to get all the prominent 13ers in the western group. The weather in the vicinity was iffy much of the way up, but Tokewanna had its very own little patch of blue sky, and it was nice when I was on the summit. But the Uintas took revenge on my way down to the trailhead and drenched me. I was pretty stoked, however, to have followed a compass heading through the forest back to my camp and popped out onto the trail only 100 yards from my tent.

NW Ridge
Day hike from West Blacks Fork and the 1st river crossing. The river crossing is passable for 4wd vehicles, but I parked here anyway. Followed the road 1.2 miles to the Bear River Smiths Fork trail junction and climbed it to 10,800ft. Left this trail after 3.0 miles and followed the gentle NW ridge to Bob's Saddle and the remaining route. My Garmin 305 watch logged the mileage as 8.0 miles one way.

West Forks Blacks Fork
I climbed Tokewanna Peak today starting at the river crossing in West Forks Blacks Fork. From there, I did an out and back to NW Wasatch. These were my final two UT 13ers.
After hitting Wasatch and NW Wasatch (Wapiti), the grinding march to the long summit ridge seemed like a piece of forever. But it was worth it. The metal mail box at the summit looked like a relic from the 30s! This three-peak death march was orchestrated by ZeeJay, but it was satisfying and worthwhile. If you do this three-fer, plan on a minimum of 13 hours and at least one stream crossing requiring extra footwear. 'Nuff said.

My first 13er! Had great fall temps. Snowing lightly at the summit. Major storm from the northwest visible from summit...blew in just as I got off the mountain. Beautiful, remote peak with great views!
