Part of a three-fer with Algonquin and Iroquois. Amazing day, but too damn hot.

Detour to Wright
Goal was Iroquois, but started late in day and hit icy patches on Algonquin (no crampons). So detour to Wright, and no complaints from me.

Wright Peak
Perfect weather. About a foot of snow on the ground, but the trail was pretty well compacted, having microspikes was very helpful.

Icy, but manageable
As part of a return trip to Algonquin. The hike up to the turn off was a bit icy in some parts from the October snowfalls melting and refreezing overnight. After the turnoff to the summit of Wright, the trail was more icy, although hikers were still making it without any extra gear. I used crampons, and these worked the best for the conditions. Above the treeline, it was just bare rock most all the way to the summit.
Great views of Algonquin. Never did find the b-47 crash, but didn't look hard for it either.
Wet and muddy in good Adirondacks style, steeper than Algonquin.

Cloudy..

Happy Valentine's Day
A beautiful day below the tree line, but the wind was biting on the summit. The snow on the trail was packed down, so snowshoes were not necessary for most of it.

winter with Algonquin
Stayed one night at Loj, then snowshoed to both peaks. I used ice crawlers on hard-pack. We passed two guys with crampons and ice axes.

Wintery hike
Great hike following a snowstorm. Did it with microspikes and the summit was a little hairy. Wished I brought my crampons. Otherwise the spikes were ideal.

Windy!
Pretty bad day weather-wise. Wind was incredible on the summit, enough to knock me down a few times. No sign of the B-52 as visability was an issue.
