Sounds like you found some of the mid-Atlantic's fun!

The Backbone Mountain area is a bit isolated to begin with and in the dark I can imagine it was really interesting! Our area may have more towns and more roads with more states than your home stomping grounds but you still "can't always get there from here" as they say!

Glad you took the opportunity to do some travel in my domain!

I wasn't expecting to be as isolated as I was. I imagined the area to be much more developed than Montana, and it was a pleasant surprise to make this interesting mountain roadtrip. Particularly BackBone Mountain to Spruce Knob and then Spruce Knob to Harrisonburg, VA: A winding, never-ending mountain road that reminded me of mountains back home. I would love to come back and spend more time in these mountains.
