Pretty easy, just long climb up! Be prepared for some bushwhacking and downed trees the lower ~1/2 mile. Beautiful meadows filled with wildflowers! We couldn't find any sort of trail.
08/2020- Basically there is no trail to follow, GPS is your friend. lot of initial bush wacking. would recommend if you want a 3-4 hour challenge and are willing to push it. wear pants. add 2-3 hours for Vienna behind it, which has a mountain goat highway from abes to the Vienna summit. Both have registries

wasn't feeling so hot this day so I was glad to have folks breaking trail. Great views of the Sawtooths as well as the White Clouds across the valley

East Ridge Snowshoe
Snowshoed up the east ridge. Great views from the summit. A big treat to get up into the Sawtooths in winter. Here's a trip report and some photos.

West Ridge
Hiked up to Lake 8700 in Sawmill Gulch, then north up to the west ridge to the summit. Came down the direct south slope scree field in quick time. Ammo box at the top. Great views as the never-ending climbing season of 2008 continues into Dec! Ptly Cloudy and 30F. We needed snowshoes near Lake 8700 in the valley, but not on any of the slopes.

So many flowersGreat climb to start the season. First time in the smiley creek area. Adding Vienna is a bit further than we thought so saved it for another day!
