Great Picture!I've seen goats twice in the Uintas. I almost ran into one, literally, on the east ridge of Mt. Agassiz, above Blue Lake. And I saw some on the mountain to the east of Queant Lake in the Whiterocks Drainage. They're up there, but I think they are hard to find because the area is huge.

Re: Great Picture!Hah! Yeah, they can kind of sneak up on ya! I had one chilling on the "crux" point down from the summit of Bald. Just a little coaxing and he walked away.

I've had a lot moreencounters with moose than I've had with goats.
There must be a lot of grass for them to eat
in those Uinta drainage systems.

Re: I've had a lot moreUp at Ryder Lake I heard 2-3 moose at just past sundown but did not see any. As for the goats, they were literally on the summit where there does not appear to be much in the way of grass to eat but what do I know? Not being a goat and all... :)
