Re: A Beautiful PeakThanks and no.
I don't plan to climb it until the snow melts
off the darn thing.

Re: Cool! Thanks, man! I agree with the words!
To be honest, I didn't think this photo
would have gotten so much attention.
Geez, I wonder how much "Tina Turner" had
to do with this? Kinda makes me wonder ...

Re: Congrats....Thank you very much, "Master Blaster" Twins!
Honestly, I didn't do very much work in
obtaining this image. I know this sounds
boring, but I was in the right place at the
right time.
Thanks again, and Happy Trails to ya all!

Re: Incredible...Yes, it's made up of that "Schnebly Hill Sandstone" stuff that geologists swoon over,
tourists point their fingers at, and folks here on SP like to climb!!!
Thanks for visiting, Fraulein Hiltrud !!

Re: That's gorgeous!Well .. thanks !!! It's NOT something you'd see on "The Sound of Music," but guess it's the next best thing !! : ))
Too bad the snow has to melt off so fast !!
The romance & drama disappears when that
happens, for crying out loud! !!

Re: That's gorgeous!Dear Larry, here's what "The Original Sound Of Music Tour" goes more or less like (you have to imagine all this said with a really strong Austrian accent - think of Arnold Schwarzenegger, for instance): "Okay, ladies and gentlemen, now get all into the bus, and we will first visit the palace of Leopoldskron, which was used in the movie as the home of the baron Von Trapp, though actually, the Trapp family did not live there in reality, they lived in the part of Salzburg named Aigen. And while we're driving over there, we will play for you the "Edelweiss" melody...well, we are now at the Leopoldskron château. In the garden, there was, until recently, the little pavillon in which "I am sixteen going on seventeen" was sung, but because the quantity of tourists who all flocked over here just to go into the pavillon to sing "I am sixteen going on seventeen" started to become overwhelming, the private owners of Leopoldskron decided it must be removed. So the pavillon was taken away and set up in Hellbrunn instead. But don't worry, we shall also pass Hellbrunn on our Sound Of Music Tour. We shall also visit the lovely Austrian town of Mondsee with the beautiful baroque church in which the marriage scene in the movie took place, even though in reality Maria and the baron were married at the Nonnberg convent in Salzburg. Our ride to Mondsee will take approximately three quarters of an hour, during which you will hear several of the most immortal tunes from the movie..."Climb every mountain"..."My favorite things"..."Do-Re-Mi"..."How does one solve a problem like Maria?"...
And so on, and so on...

Re: That's gorgeous!THANKS for setting me straight on that one, Eric! : ))
The last time I was on the opposite side of
The Pond, I wished to research that subject
further ...
Sadly, I was obsessed with toasting people
with my favorite beverage, and stuffing my
mouth with cheese and jam and bread.
At the same time, my head resounded with
these classic & unforgettable lyrics :
"How do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?
How do you find a word that means Maria?
A flibbertajjibet,
A will-of-a-wisp,
A clown?
Many a thing you know you'd like to tell her,
Many a thing she ought to understand.
But how do you make her stay? ??"

Re: That's gorgeous!Well, I most certainly won't be drinking tea.
Think I deserve something a bit more potent!
Sorry I was gone so long! There was no "goat's cheese" in the fridge, so I actually had to MILK a goat!
And .. I milked that goat for all it was worth, for crying out loud !!! : )))
