"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."

longWith my Dad from Pansy Lake. I mutinied on the way over to Knob Peak though. Got sick of it and my Dad is a pushover when I sit down and don't budge. Where was my masseuse? Where are the male dogs fanning me with palm fronds I was promised? Anyhoo, I did my part and ate most of the melting snow on the way back. You can all thank me later.

Dickey CreekDid this on a warm sunny day via Dickey Creek. I stopped by Big slide Lake and Lake Lenore before the scramble to the top. Still some snowy spots on the descent to Lenore. I had great views from Rainier to South Sister and of the nearby wilderness. Went on to Bull of the Woods (mountain)afterwards. Lots of wildflowers and mosquitoes. Returned under full moon to my truck and drove back to Portland.
