"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."

3rd BurroughsFun hike up all 3 Burroughs. Lots of people up First and Second, but just a few continued up to Third. A couple of snowfields still left on the trail, no need for an axe though. Saw goats on all 3 in herds of 10-15. Amazing view from the summit of 3rd, the drop down to the Whithrop is very impressive.

Beautiful Summer DayMy husband and I visited Sunrise, and headed toward Burroughs Mountain to get away from the people. We were pleasantly surprised, as usual, to have the trail to ourselves after the initial 1/4 mile. Beautiful hike, beautiful flowers, beautiful mountain.

From SunriseI was really impressed by the late summer wildflower
display. The open views and fragile floral biozones
are amazing, and should be shared by all.
