Nice climb up
Got to the top of Cathedral Peak on the Arlington-Cathedral-LaCumbre Peak trail loop, which was around 11 miles with 3600 ft of climbing. It was a very hot day, and did not have any water for most of the downhill. These are nice training hikes and peaks, and are pretty quiet compared to other hikes in Santa Barbara.

Inspiration Point Trailhead
Arlington Peak and Cathedral Peak via Inspiration Point Trailhead, Spyglass Ridge Road, and Cathedral Peak Trail. We were on the trail by 10:20 (actually 0.25 miles before the official start of the trail due to a lack of parking spots near the trailhead) and made it to the summit of Arlington Peak by 12:50. This is a rough trail with plenty of Class 2 scrambling, but the views from the ridge are incredible. After 10 minutes of admiring the view and taking a few photos, we made our way along the relatively easy part of the ridge trail towards Cathedral Peak; making it to the top by 1:25. We snacked, and chatted with a family of 3 for 15 minutes before descending the way we came. Party of 2. 2.7 miles and 2 hours 30 minutes to the summit of Arlington Peak. Another 0.3 miles and 25 minutes of hiking to Cathedral Peak. 2,375 ft of elevation gain to the summit of Arlington Peak and another 150 ft for Cathedral Peak. 6 miles, 2,575 ft of elevation gain, and 6 hours round trip. The weather was great for hiking; overcast with temps in the low 60's with a slight breeze for most of the day. Hiked with a long sleeve shirt and shorts. At the last minute, we packed a thin pair of utility gloves which came in handy because of the scrambling and the rocks can get rough on the hands after a while.

Arlington/Cathedral/La Cumbre
From Mission Canyon over to Cathedral and then on up to La Cumbre. Returned the tunnel trail. A long loop. Fun scrambling up Arlington and La Cumbre.
Parked at a small turnout next to the gate for the fire road leading up to La Cumbre. First went up to La Cumbre, then spent a while before I could find the trail to Cathedral. I really enjoyed the hike to/from Cathedral. Class 2 scramble for much of the way. Very steep but enjoyable.

Arlington/Cathedral
The second half of an enjoyable duo. We enjoyed watching the clouds build up down below and thinking we might be engulfed, only to watch them dissipate in minutes. We technically climbed Cathedral twice this day, the second summit following our retreat after an unsuccessful attempt at dropping down to the saddle and completing the Cathedral - Cumbre loop. We found the downclimb and use trail off the north side of Cathedral, and it completely disappeared in the thicket.
