"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Hiked in on 2N49Drove about 4.5 miles up 2N49 from highway 138 with Mike Martin. Ran into some nasty channels and was not able to complete the drive. Parked and hiked the rest of the way. Was also annoyed by biting flies. Great views of the San Gabriels.

Drive-a-thonDecided to take a detour after visiting the Sierra peaks for 4 days. Forgot how bad the 395 (traffic wise) is between Ridgecrest and I-15. Not much to say about the peak except you won't catch me near it on my 50th birthday...(Bob).

Along the PCTHiked up the PCT from Silverwood Lake and then took 2N47 to the summit. Extremely warm day with about a zillion black gnats.

Tough DriveI was impressed with my 2WD Hyundai Tucson in making the drive from I-15 up to the parking area for the peak, and then down the east side to Silverwood Lake. A little hairy in spots, but I made it. Climbed with Cajon, Sugarpine, Bailey, and Monument Peaks in the morning while waiting for the Steelers game to start. Super Bowl bound!

Great views & wildflowersWe went on a Wednesday thus had the whole ridge to ourselves - and the wildflowers and views were tremendous! Some of the best lupine displays I've ever seen. Very windy up here, though.
