For the past 6 years, I did the Cloud's Rest - Half Dome loop.
( 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013).
I usually go from the Yosemite Valley to Clouds Rest first, sleep around or on top of the mountain, enjoy the sunset and the sunrise on the mountain. In the morning, after the sunrise and the breakfast, I walk down then up to Half Dome. The same day I get back to the Valley. It is the most beautiful routine of my life!
Lots of mosquitoes near the water features. By myself at the summit for the first several minutes on a Monday.

second time
Climbed this with a full pack to train, almost a year after the first time. Even with a pack it was much easier than last time, so guess I'm getting stronger :)

Via Northeast Ridge
Approximate date. Great alternative to Half Dome as a Central Yosemite hike with spectacular views and a lot fewer people, especially in the fall, when I did it.
Second year in a row doing a mid-April dayhike from Happy Isles, made it without snowshoes but lots of snow above 9000 feet and on summit. Trip report is HERE

From Happy Isles
Nice long dayhike from the valley. Mist Trail was closed which added an extra 2 miles to the hike. Patches of snow starting at 7000 ft continuing up the summit which, itself, was virtually free of snow.

JMT side trip
Went up there as a side trip on day 2 of a JMT thru-hike that included 11 peaks. Glorious views of the Valley and Half Dome.
My first backpack ever was to Clouds Rest. It was a lot easier this time.

Beautiful Spring day. Patches of snow on the trail here and there. Tenaya Creek up to the knees in places. All my life I've looked up to this place, and finally, finally got to visit it. Met another solo fella just before wading across the creek, and we hit it off. A great visit, all the way out and back.

Second time's the charm
Had to turn back 50ft from the summit one year ago due to ice, but not this year!
Did the dayhike from Happy Isles - the trail was devoid of snow until patchy snow around 8,500 feet, then occasional deep snow above 9,500 feet. Glad I decided to lug the snowshoes up. Trip report at http://www.mountainhiker.org/trip_report.aspx?id=83

Hiked from Tenaya Lake. Superb views on the final ridge.

From Sunrise/Tenaya
Quick day hike with John on a crisp, cold morning. I think the view from the summit is as good or better than any other point in Yosemite. Great vantage point between the Valley and Tuolumne.

From Tenaya Lake
Guided a group of female backpackers over Clouds Rest on day 2 from Tenaya Lake. Was my first time up and I almost felt bad that it had taken me this long to experience a real Yosemite classic! Spectacular views all around and a fun airy summit (for non-climbers anyway).

Best view of the park, hands down. Nice stroll from Tenaya Lake, fun scramble along the knife-edge. Excellent weather and fun group made for a memorable outing.
