Cochise Stronghold  Sucess!

Josh, Kessler, and I climbed the Four Course Meal Route at Chochise Stronghold (West). It was a great four-pitch route. We then headed for Sweet Rock to do some climbing. My son started to lead Good and Plenty, but near the top, he fell and took a whipper near the second to the last bolt. He got scraped and cut up, but with no serious injury. Josh then led the pitch. I then went to climb the pitch, but when I saw the blood on the wall from my son's fall, I decided we should call it a day.

West side climbing  Sucess!

Climbed many routes around westside. Lots of trad and sport alike. Beautiful winter weather, clear and dry. Good water running but not always so- not every year. Bathing holes if you follow that creek up which ultimately leads to an old mine & top of complex. Watch out for the cat's claw! We stayed 6 weeks and never had to wait for a route to clear to climb- empty but for weekends. 10 miles to Tombstone & some basic groceries, otherwise closest market is Walmart in Benson 45-1 hour away.
