From Cottonwood Campground
Started directly toward the mountain, had to veer north out of large boulder fields to reach the draw. Would have been better to start wide north to avoid obstacles. Fun scramble up to the plateau. Took a yucca hit in the arm on the way down for a nice bleed. Great views!

West Chute
Started at the Lost Palms Oasis and took the west chute since it was shorter. We made the mistake of taking a bee-line from the top of the chute and ended up having to drop through a 400' canyon which could have been avoided had we traversed left from the top. No matter. Fun climbing without too much brush/cacti. Tagged Mastodon on the way back.

100th USA P2k!
This was my 100th 2000 foot prominence peak (in the USA). I soloed this peak during a week long peakbagging trip in which I also did Chemehuevi, Kingston, East Ord, Kelso Dunes, Whipple, Cady, and Mastadon.
