End Of Southwest Ridge Ascent
Martin, side-traversing a steep meadow slope to get around a rocky bluff that prohibits further progress on the southwest ridge of Silvertip Mountain. Although it cannot be seen in this photo, there is an old goat path located above the small grove of trees ahead of Martin.
At approximately 6000' elevation, this is the area where potential Silvertip Mountain summiters have just left the southwest ridge en route to the west ridge.
The route bypasses the rocky bluff by side-traversing steep meadow slopes around the east side of the bluff to a large gully on the other side.
