Ok climb. Easier than I expected. Mostly Class 2+ with a few sections of Class 3 with mild exposure. Added Cryatal, Atlantic, and Pacific in a loop.

South face?  Sucess!

Ascended the steep sweeping south face directly under the technical start of the ridge ascent to FD. Meaning, I took a line straight up that face and ended up just feet east of the technical part of the ascent on the ridge west to FD peak. Why don't I explain it one more time? The heck with that. Summited, and actually descended the north sweeping face on a long moraine to a road, then down. A good route. Totally alone. I was solo, so no surprise there.

End of traverse  Sucess!

Did the traverse over the ridge from Helen. Then went down the east ridge. Ran out of water before at the lowest part of the ridge on the FD side

Fun Day  Sucess!

What a great day! Headed up the unrelenting slopes of Helen and then traversed to Father Dyer and then on to Crystal. Wanted to head over to Peak 9 and 10, but were stormed off at Crystal.

Pk 10--Crystal--Father Dyer loop  Sucess!

Nice loop hike. The ridge to Father Dyer was the best part, but coming down off of Father Dyer was tedious (came down from the saddle between FD and Mt Helen). Had the dog with me - otherwise I probably would have come back over Mt Helen. (class3 ridge, I hear.)

NE Ridge and traverse to Crystal  Sucess!

My favorite route on my '11 CO trip. Great rock, fine scrambling and spectacular views. Didn't see a single person on the mountain. Mt favorite class III. What a gem!
