Yeah Google Earth is a great tool. It seems like they have increased the accuracy and detail since I wrote this little article. And yes, you guessed both exactly right. That's impressive!
Ya, I don't wanna sound wierd or anything but I have thought up a game where knowledgable hikers post nameless North Cascade photos with only the information of what your looking at and have to guess where the picture is taken from. Weird I know...
