Lots of nice, sorted sand left behind

This past June the natural spring runoff increased the Green River in Utah to the flow footage of the normally larger Colorado River. I captured a picture of sand left by the much higher river at the local restaurant's view point next to the river. The top of the chain link fence is all that shows, with the sand about six feet deep. Visitors were supposed to walk down steps to the landing and stay behind the fence for safety. A gate in the fence was provided for those who wanted a closer view. Originating in Wyoming, the Green is first trapped in Flaming Gorge dam, and then released.
