Descent from Großer Solstein; Erlspitze in full afternoon sun; the easiest ascent to this worthwhile summit from Solsteinhaus can be ssen zigzaging up the center ridge. Much more interesting is the ascent via Eppzirler Scharte, the deeply notched col to the left, and the left - western - ridge (UIAA grade I - II, class 2 / 3, some parts with fixed ropes). Both routes make an interesting loop.
