From Brunnalm via Schallerrinne in perfect weather. Bit windy on the top. Anyway - fantastic day out.

Teufelsteig and Goassteig
This time I successfully reached the summit of Hohe Veitsch. This was my route: Pflanzhütte - Rabenstein - Teufelsteig - Hohe Veitsch - Seeboden Hütte - Hasenkogel - Predigstuhl - Goassteig - Pflanzhütte

Wrong trailhead
No success in reaching the top. Why?
I had no map, just a photocopy about the top of the mountain. I stopped with my car at a wrong trailhead, and started the ascent far from the optimal (and planned) trailhead. I had maximum 4 hours for the climb as I started the ascent only at 2 pm, and it was October. With the wrong trailhead the tour would have been 14 km long to reach the summit rather than 5.5 km as it would have been from the right trailhead. Still I started the ascent. During the whole hiking I was not sure where I was. I had the feeling that I am east to the main summit (and I was right from this aspect). After 2.5 hours I decided to return. By that time I was only 1.5 km far from the summit, and the missing elevation gain to do was not more than 130 m. Still I had to return because:
- I had no map
- Sunset time was within 1.5 hours and I had to return to the car yet
- I was alone on the mountain
- It was stormy weather. Around 0 Celsius degree. I was in white clouds with rather limited visibility. The terrain was covered by snow and any signs were hardly visible
Finally I returned to the car with no problem. Though the last kilometer to the car was in almost full darkness.

My first real alpine tour
This was my first real alpine tour. We used snow shoes. The weather was really warm and sunny.
Bärental, Rodel, Schallerrinne but also Kl. Wildkamm. Several successful ascents (but also no success mostly due to very bad weather).
e.g. first success on Kl. Windkamm in 1978 (with my dad)
