The Hornstein is a three rocky formation, unical in all the palatian sector ... This site is almost unknown by the hikers and the climbers and this is, unfortunately, a big pity ! The Hornstein summital rock is bringing a remarkable panorama, over Lug and the neary mountains (Nesselberg and Höllenberg, especially ! ). The western tower of the Hornstein is having a white cross at his summit. And also, the site can been reached, by a marked path. Good to know.

Unlooked for
Large round trip> Geiersteine, Katerfelsen, Hornsteine, Käshafen, Rötzenstein, Dimberg and back to the Geiersteine. Was amazed at the three Hornstein crags and climbed the topmost (easiest one). Nice views since the trees around the crags had fallen victim to one of the winter storms a couple of months before.
