Kamiak Butte  Sucess!

Saw no signs prohibiting bikes, so I rode my ebike to the top. Views are not nearly as impressive as Steptoe Butte.

Nice little hike  Sucess!

Hiked this peak once in 2003 or 4 when visiting a friend in Moscow, ID. Nice little hike with great views of the surrounding Palouse area.

Easy Trail.  Sucess!

The second tag-on peak of our trip. Similar to Steptoe Butte, I was able to convince Paul Michelson to go here with me due to the peak's P1K status.

Best Thing About Living In Pullman  Sucess!

I lived in Pullman for eight years and probably climbed Kamiak at least fifty times during that period. It's quickly accessible from town, and provides a view of the Palouse that's really only rivaled by the views from Steptoe Butte and Moscow Mountain (but those don't really count because you can drive to the top).

If you live nearby, it's fun to hike frequently and observe the changes in the character of the place as the seasons turn. Late winter is the best season to be up top, view-wise, but you might need snowshoes to get there.

My regular hiking spot.  Sucess!

If you live in Pullman this is by far the best way to escape the sea of wheat. I hike the North side of the Butte with my daughter on my back which is an excellent way to cross train for backpacking and climbing trips.

Many many times  Sucess!

I have climbed this many many times. It is close to Pullman and is just about the best hike in the area.

Sunset  Sucess!

Easy hike to the top, even in mid-winter. Sunset glowing through thin clouds was one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. I uploaded a picture of it, but it really doesn't do it justice.

Kamiak  Sucess!

This was a fairly pleasant albeit quite brief little hike. Nice view of the surrounding Palouse farmlands.
