The Pinnacles Trail
Nice hike under picture-perfect skies until...the poodle-dog bush forest. It turned an otherwise enjoyable hike into a stressful one trying to avoid all of that crap. It does have a lovely flower though...

Fun Hike
The rock formations are very intersting. A lot of folks hike this trail later in the morning so start early.

Pinnacles Trail
Ended up missing a turnoff on the sometimes hard to find trail, so this took way longer than it should have. Nice hike, though.

Pinnacles Trail
Just there to tag the highpoint with Tom. A pretty lame day overall as this was the toughest of eight summits. Trip Report. Tom makes good company though.

Lotsa Wind and Little Fire
OK, the fire wasn't near us as we later found out but between that black cloud headed our way and the high winds, we made a short day. Would sure like to get back in there on a calmer day.

Second time
First time was an awesome success. Hiked with my Dad, and My grandma's dog Missy! My Dad and I had to take turns going to the top because the pooch can't make it up the rocks to the top. Overall, a great and fun hike!

Clear and crisp..
Second time doing this one with my son, Kevin. Huge boulders abound along the trail and at the summit. Great panorama from top rock.

Diamonds In The Rough
Introduced to this area by Blair and Aaron Dyer and found the climbing enjoyable. The place rarely sees a human being. Must be the 30-40 minute approach; however its well worth it. Climbed 'Wired Brush' (5.9), 'Arrowsphere' (5.9...soft IMO), an unknown route to the left of the previous route checking in at 5.10a/b, and 'Razor Tips' (5.10c). Going back soon!
got a wild idea to go climbing all night under a full moon in the nude. did some multi pitch route, had lamps, but didn't use them so as not to attract attention. did a long run-out due to passing a bolt, (hard to see them in the dark). kinda vulnerable feeling up there with nothing on but a harness. I thought "what If I fall, get hurt and need to be rescued?" Hm, that'd be a bit embarrassing.
First time out here Greg and I hiked from Lake arrowhead to the pinnacles on broken Hwy 163 (i think). This is a cool spot! Come back again and again...

Awesome Place!
A great place to hike and to do some rock scrambling. Nearby Mount Marie Louise is a pleasure too.
Climbed here in the early 90's with my brother Mark. Wan't a guide book in those days, least we didn't have one. We probably did a first ascent or two. It was a great area to get away from it all.
