Long Ridge Trail to Dodger Point and Ludden-Scott saddle

This is an account of a solo hike/mountaineering trip I  undertook between July 2nd and July 4, 2016 in the Elwha River valley. I had intended to hike up the Long Ridge trail to Dodger Point and then out to the Bailey Range to Dodwell Rixon Pass, and then back out the main Elwha Trail. I only made it as far as the Ludden-Scott saddle and then the weather  began to deteriorate, with white out conditions on the ridge south of Mount Pulitzer, so I turned back. Still, it was an outstanding hike across challenging and beautiful terrain.
