A Walk and a Jog
Third of 3 domes today. Simple trek from Medlicott Dome. Didn't really enjoy the amount of snow on the descent, but oh well. 'Twas a fun 5-mile jaunt to strengthen ankle from break 3 months prior.

Side trip
Over from other peaks in the area on an afternoon hike, watched the sunset from here and Medlicott Dome, so back in the dark. Nice views all around.

Euro Trash to Hobbit Book
Mary and I did the link-up of Euro Trash (5.8 AO, 4 pitches) to Hobbit Book (5.7, 4 pitches). I pulled through the crux on Euro Trash by pulling on the draws, but Mary managed to free it without difficulty (maybe I should have tried it free). A slow party of three delayed our start on Hobbit Book, but they kindly let us pass at the second belay. Crux face pitch was exciting, but not that scary (I managed to sling some plates). Descent was very straightforward.
What a spectacular climb and great summit views ! Climbed with K. Chaltikian - he led pitches 1 and 3 (runout 5.7), and I led pitches 2 and 4.
We approached via a 4-pitch climb on the lower apron called Euro Trash (5.8 or 5.11a) instead of the usual talus, etc. (I put a note in Additions / Corrections)

Did the walk up 2-3
Not a face climber, I went up through the forest one summer afternoon. Scrambled the backside again July 11, '10. Ten years to the day. This dome had great views!

Great dome & climb!
Great climb, with Gordon. No parties ahead of us, so even better! I was stressing about the impending runout for the first 2 pitches, but when I finally got going on it, it was fine. Great & pretty chill face climbing, actually! Pitches 3 & 4 were phenomenal! It started dripping a bit when we topped out. 4:05 or so for the climb. Did Seconds to Darkness on the way down, also fun. Immediately after we got done rapp'ing it, it started to drizzle. Great timing that day.

Hobbit Book
Went up there with Misha and Etsuko. Misha discovered he forgot his climbing shoes as we roped up, so Etsuko and I continued without him. The route was fun and easy. The runout section looked intimidating, but was quite secure and fun in the end. Nice to top out on the very summit.
