It's a very enjoyable walk to the top from the parking lot by the Monte Maccione restaurant, skip the paved switchback road up to this point that Alltrails wants you to take! Great trail, wonderfully marked, perfect hiking conditions. Pretty exposed to sun on top, I would not hike this in Sardininan midsummer except early in the morning. Took us 1:40 hours from the parking lot to the top. There are lots of other trails in the karst plateau on top to explore, including really beautiful shepherd's huts and more dramatic views. Word on this site is that the rock is fragile, but the limestone is quite competent on many of the faces, and we saw climbers doing it. If you get started early this walk could easily be combined with a climb up the much more dramatic but lower Punta Cusidore.

Route Climbed: Northern normal route Date Climbed: May 20th 2004
Climbed Monte Corrasi from Scala 'e Pradu in its north. Up to the Scala the ascent was easy using a forest road. From there on a panoramic scramble a little east of the northern ridge. More and more of Sardinia's mountains come into view.
Had a great time on the summit but then decided to take the southern ridge for descending. Near the summit this route is marked but the blue marks and cairns can be quite easily lost in the macchia undergrowth. Had to head down the west face directly and luckily found a location where only minor climbing skills (class II) were required. Headed trail less through an old oak forest towards a dirt road we had seen from above. Miraculously this was already the correct road to take us back to Oliena though it kept winding along the Corrasi west faces.
